Mélissa and Mary

These two have been friends forever, across many distances, and have managed to stay so in sync with one another. They're also both ridiculously fun to be around and 100% up for anything. Climb a tree? Leap through the air? Do a handstand? Dance like it's 1999? All of the above and then some. Seriously people—this only begins to scratch the surface of what makes these ladies so awesome.

All film. Hasselblad H1 / Portra 400 and Fuji Pro400H / scanned by The FIND Lab.

Ashleigh & James

I absolutely love photographing a couple just as they're preparing to welcome their first child. Ashleigh and James are so full of love and expectation, and I enjoyed very moment with them. I can't wait to meet their sweet boy when he arrives!

This Beloved maternity session took place at Gilbert's Bar House of Refuge in Stuart, Florida.

maggie and milly and molly and may
went down to the beach(to play one day)

and maggie discovered a shell that sang
so sweetly she couldn't remember her troubles, and

milly befriended a stranded star
whose rays five languid fingers were;

and molly was chased by a horrible thing
which raced sideways while blowing bubbles: and

may came home with a smooth round stone
as small as a world and as large as alone.

For whatever we lose(like a you or a me)
it's always ourselves we find in the sea.

Sara and I first met in college about eight years ago. (Yes that makes me feel ancient.) We had mutual friends, and I knew that she got married the year I did and then was pregnant at the same time I was, but we never really spoke. She and her family lived in California for a while, and then come back to Florida, and it was then—after all that time—that our friendship finally formed. I'm convinced that was always destined to happen. We bonded immediately over grammar geekdom, creative life, and the challenges of still being people while also being mothers. She is one of those people who is even more strikingly beautiful inside than out (and that is saying a lot, no?)

Sara is one-half of the talented team at Calliope, a branding and media presence company for small businesses. She has an incredible gift with words, and has helped bring clarity to a few projects for HMP. Her keen understanding of my heart as it relates to this business and her belief in me as an artist have been humbling and enlightening.

Thank you, dear friend, for letting me see you that morning by the sea.

I met Christina a couple years ago when she interviewed me about my business for my alma mater's campus paper. Now she's also an alumni, and a photographer. We recently reconnected, and spent an afternoon bonding over coffee and cameras (what else?!). I'm so happy about our sweet new friendship!
