I love October. Seriously, adore. For one thing, it is officially Fall. While sadly we don't get the beauty of this wonderful season here in South Florida, usually by the end of October we're getting some relief from the heat. I also get to live vicariously through friends' photos of leaves in every shade of red and orange. And of course there are pumpkin spice lattes, and other delicious autumnal comfort foods... but I digress. I also love October because it happens to be the month I was born. And who doesn't love birthdays?

I also celebrate another birthday in October. Four years ago, I made the decision to take the leap and become a professional photographer, and Hannah Mayo Photography was born. I'll admit that at the time I had little idea of what I was getting myself into, but these four years have been truly amazing and I am so thankful that I had the courage at the age of 21 to take that first step toward living my dream and passion.

So clearly there is much to celebrate, and I want to give you a gift for my birthday! For every session booked in October (even if the session doesn't actually take place this month), you'll receive a sweet little accordion book with your order, full of some favorite images from your session. And because I love you (and pumpkin spice lattes) so much, the first three people to jump on this will also get a $5 Starbucks card, so you can go for coffee after your session! So get in touch asap!

Meanwhile, the past month has been so full. I share lots of snippets of daily life using Instagram on my phone- @hmayophoto if you'd like to follow along. These are a few of my behind-the-scenes biz-related posts recently. From sending lovely product orders to a new set of business cards, to shooting underwater for the first time (eek! so exciting!- post coming soon!), waking early for sunrise sessions at the beach, and relaxing once in a while with tea and a little visual inspiration... this is life as an entrepreneur and artist. It is a constant balancing act, but I am thankful every day that this is my life.
