So I've already missed weeks in this project I only just started, and two of these were taken with my iPhone, but I'm not letting that get me down. It's my project anyway, so don't I make the rules?
We just returned from a week-long roadtrip adventure to the North Carolina mountains and back. Yes, six hours a day in the car with three kids. Yes, I'm still recovering. It was absolutely wonderful though.

my heart, week 2

Eaden. Every day you do something new. Yesterday it was chewing on your toes. It's amazingly cute- your little legs folding up to meet your torso, making you look round and even smaller than you already are. You have a heartwarming smile for pretty much anyone who looks at you. You are pure joy.
I took this photo- a self portrait- for Wherever I Am With You, a monthly collective I'm part of. At first I hated the way my body looks in it, still so soft from carrying her within me just four months ago. But after a moment of reflection, I grew to love it for the very same reason. I carried her within me, just four months ago. Holy freaking miracle. I hope to become stronger and healthier in time, but my body will never be 100% the same and that is fine with me. I deeply hope that I will pass down an attitude of self-acceptance and self-care to my daughter.

Isaac. You have such a sense of humor. Undeveloped, yes, but ever-present. Currently poop and farts are some of your best material, but you also throw in some seriously funny faces, sound effects, and elaborate stories. You really enjoy making people laugh, and I just love that about you.

Seth. You have many interests and talents, my dear. You want to learn and try everything, just as I always did. Sometimes this can mean that we never spend enough time honing just one skill, because we're dividing our time between too many things. Watch for what really pulls at your heart. When you discover a real passion and set your mind to it, the sky's the limit. You can do anything my love.
